After a terrible last few months of toiling away on thankless work at my last job and being seriously broke through the holidays and all of January, it looks like everything is starting to settle down and fall into place. New year, new job, and one amazing new start. So happy to finally have a job that is both challenging and rewarding. It’s been a long, rough road thus far and there’s still an even longer and tougher road ahead. Now, time to bust my ass off again this year and see what happens. Ready, set, go!
I work in a fine dining restaurant in Southern California.
So after a short drought of unemployment I have found a job. A place I can call home. Basically started like this: Staged on the FIRST day of restaurant week. Stand by for a call back for a whole week because there is like a dozen other stages. Get a call back saying I’m who they want and BAM, get thrown into the trenches. And now here I am at the end of restaurant week, emerging as a more than welcomed newcomer. Ah, feels good to be good in this industry.
Ah brunch. My favorite second breakfast. Went for a visit at my old place today to get some insight from my Chef regarding future employment. He personally made me this delicious omelette - the true French way, slightly runny and super creamy. Also on the side some house made pork & truffle breakfast sausages!
